Embroidery

My embroidery is done by hand and machine bringing highlights to the over all image. I use mainly satin stitch and running stitch on the machine and fly stitch, blanket stitch, chain stitch and herringbone by hand.

Some times I want the embroidery to stand out and other times it has to blend in.

I collect  vintage embroidery and incorporate these into the new piece, which is a good way of recycling. These can be very ornate and complex, with a lot of effort gone into their making.

So it is good to give them a new lease of life.
